The Information Board shows you the positional relationship of the national important cultural properties and the historical site. The six buildings of the Manda Pit are designated as national important cultural properties: the No. 2 Shaft Tower, the symbol of the Manda Pit, used to transport miners up and down; the No. 2 Shaft hoist machine house, used to winch up the wires for the cages; the storage/pump house, used mainly for draining groundwater out of the pits; the safety lamp/bath house, in which the battery charging room for the helmet lights used in the pits and the bath house remain; the administration office, where the monitoring room and changing room are located; and Yamanokami (mountain deity) Saishi (religious service) facilities. The Prefecture border runs through the Manda Pit. An area of 4,000m2 out of the total area of 20,000 m2 belongs to Omuta City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
